It’s difficult to find a substantial enough explanation for how many amazing Hurley-related folks hail from Pennsylvania, but then it’s difficult to explain Mr. Lemon DeGeorge in any case. Besides being a way out musician and studio engineer, an artist, a man trained in native medicine and shamanic traditions and a general connoisseur of the obscure, Lemon also gives gentle love to trees in need as an arboriculturealist. Michael and Lemon (then know as Blind Lemon Crankshaft) first met in Washington DC and were re-acquainted many years later when Michael recognized him during a recording session in California.

After settling in San Francisco in the 60s, Lemon formed several bands and created his own recording space, Crib Nebula Studios. He met and worked with the amazing Paul Pena, helping to create the award winning documentary Genghis Blues about their voyage to Tuva and into the culture of throatsinging. Lemon also worked with Jolie Holland, helping to engineer and produce several tracks on her album Catalpa as well as Springtime Can Kill You and Escondida. When he’s not skipping out to Thailand or Cambodia, Lemon still performs with his band Neither/Neither World.
