Formed by a group of music makers in Philadelphia, PA, Espers has a haunting, delicate sound that brings on a nicely spacey state of consciousness. Members have included Meg Baird, Helena Espvall, Otto Hauser, Christopher Smith, Greg Weeks, and Brooke Sietinsons and the band has completed four albums. Espers has been at the center of a revitalized and new marriage of psychedelic and folk music. Besides solo projects, several members have been involved in a constellation of other collaborative projects, from the way experimental to the sweet acoustic songs. We have particular heart for Meg Baird’s recording of "The Waltz of The Tennis Players" and Otto’s undeniable bad-ass chops. Espers included Michael’s song "Blue Mountain" on their covers album Weed Tree, bringing an ethereal vibe to the song. We had the pleasure of seeing them perform it with Michael at a festival in Big Sur in the early winter of 2006. www.dragcity.com/artists/espers
